I’m actually Sound Supervisor for the programme and I’ve worked on them all including the pilot! I knew very little about archaeology myself when it first started but knew it would make good tele the first time we followed Mick Aston round the church on the pilot – sheer delight! It’s helped me appreciate the viewers point of view.
As for me personally I live in the wilds of Dorset with Mrs. S. and numerous male offspring most of whom are taller than me! When I’m not on the road filming I go paragliding or potholing and play guitar in a band (I usually take the “jangly box”, as Tim calls it, on the shoots as Tim plays too). I’m as wacky as the day is long (you have to be to work in tv) and am also a fan of Sci-Fi stuff.
