Zarzma, Georgia Images by Tim Storer
The Monastery was built in the 14th century and is 35 km to the south of Akhaltsikhe. The large domed church is almost quadratic in plan. It was founded by confessor Serapion Zarzmeli in the 10th century. Along the southern side of the cathedral is the three-vaulted entrance. The decorations of the doors and windows are rich and the frescos represent the Jakhelis family.
