Yep, Ffrith isn’t too far from here – it’s a Roman industrial site, mainly lead mining but I believe there were other industrial/manufacturing operations too. No doubt the programme will enlighten us. I didn’t know it was being filmed – what a pity!

I was thinking of a PhD on Roman north-east Wales at one time, before I got seduced by Turkey. I’m sure there must have been much more of a Roman presence here than is generally known.
