Does anyone fancy a trip in or around Newcaslte on Sunday 9th October? Possibilities include: Segedunum Roman fort, Arbeia Roman fort, Tynemouth castle and priory, Newcastle castle, the city centre museums, Stephenson railway musuem, or further afield – gateshead, durham, sunderland, berwick, Alnwick, Carlisle, Edinburgh even maybe, etc. Basically anywhere within about 3 hours public transport travelling time of Tynemouth. If so you can narrow it down to SE Wales.

The post from last night covers all of Wales.

I hope they hurry up and finish before the next Tom Jones concert! I often think the Bute attempt to reconstruct the Roman Fort is often undervalued and underestimated. Looking at the north wall from Bute Park you can really appreciate the scale of the undertaking. It must be the only full scale stone-built Roman Fort reconstruction around.

Ooban, the guy who set that up is not a welsh speaker – in fact on britarch it has been mentioned that a welsh speaker may translate his website for him.

Time Team Forum Friends :: View topic – Trips gone by…….

The first one I went on to Caistor St Edmund and Norwich, organized by Bruce and Owen. Also met Jenni, Jonathan, Pete, Elaine (must email her) Owen’s other half, Michael and his daughter, Shirley and her (and Bruce’s) son. After walking around the Roman site, demolishing mole hills to find any artefacts, when Elaine found a tiny piece of pottery. Owen gave us a guided tour of Norwich Cathedral. We also visited the Dragon Hall.

That was five years ago, how quickly time passes.

The forum is dead Long live the forum! 😀 Ahhh! Smell that new forum smell. No food or drink allowed in case it spills and stains the upholstery. 😉

BTW, is it me, or is this shiny new forum courtesy of Co (Thanks Co! ) quicker than the C4 one, and with more mod cons too?

Right then, off for a little light exploration.

TIME TEAM FORUM FRIENDS :: FAQ

The times are not correct!

The times are almost certainly correct; however, what you may be seeing are times displayed in a timezone different from the one you are in. If this is the case, you should change your profile setting for the timezone to match your particular area, e.g. London, Paris, New York, Sydney, etc. Please note that changing the timezone, like most settings, can only be done by registered users. So if you are not registered, this is a good time to do so, if you pardon the pun!
