IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE CODE OF CONDUCT THEN YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE ON THIS FORUM.

Your rights and responsibilities as a contributor to the Time Team Forum Friends forum As a contributor you are bound by these T & C.

Your details are protected under the Data Protection Act, and will not be passed onto a third party. You can change or amend these at any time via the profile link at the top of the page.

Posted material

You are solely responsible for what you write. This forum is backed up on a daily basis, and can therefore material can be recovered if libel, slander of defamation of character has occurred. You must therefore think carefully before you write.

Acceptable behaviour?

Acceptable behaviour should be instilled in all of us. The nature of “Online communities” can have unfortunate consequences in how the written word is construed. As visual and auditory clues are missing, one needs to be more aware of how our written words might be understood by others.

The Rules

Manners and personal conduct • Do not shout at other contributors by posting in all capital letters • Take care with humour that might work verbally but could lead to upset when rendered on screen. Please remember that tone can be misconstrued due to the limitations of e-media. • Present your opinions in a tactful and moderate fashion. • Do not be aggressive towards other members on this forum. • Be civil in your interaction! Do not vilify, abuse, denigrate or call other members names. • Read thoroughly and digest the thread and posts before replying. • Do not mock others for grammar or spelling errors. There are many reasons why this occurs, you do not know the circumstances. • If in doubt do not post.

Content

• Your post should be constructive. • Please try to ensure your post is legible and easily understood. • You may not post any commercial material on this site, for example banner advertising in your signature. • Anything that could be deemed as indecent, racist or defamatory, harassment or threatening will be removed and the poster informed of the reasons why. • Do Not post any personal details of others • Do Not post any third-party material that infringes any legal rights. • You must not quote any private correspondence, be it email, private messages or any other private material anywhere on the Forum unless it is using the PM facility. • Freedom of Speech – please let members post ideas and allow for these to be elaborated on without fear of admonishment from others.

Monitoring

• Report any transgressions to the administrator by Private Message or via email. • Please be aware that it may take a while to answer your complaint. • Be aware that you can be traced via the electronic trail that is formed when you access this website. All actions are logged and we can ask for action to be taken by your ISP and at a last resort the Police if the action is of a serious nature.

Use of images

• It is recommended that you optimise images for the web. • If you need help, please ask! • You must either cite the source of the image, or own the copyright to the material posted.

Use of Avatars

• Avatars should be no larger than 10kb. • Avatars should be 80 pixels wide and 80 pixels high. • These should not mock other members of the Forum.

Admin Staff and Moderators

• They reserve the right to amend, move, lock or delete posts where they deem it necessary to do so. • The Administrator or Moderator will not always advise you why they have moved, amended or deleted your post. • Deletion of a post is a last resort. • Banning of a user is also deemed a last resort.

Complaints procedure

If you, as a member of the Forum, or the general public feels that these conditions have been breached, then the following procedure should be followed.

1) Contact the Administrator – [email protected] if a non-member or via personal message if a member.

2) Outline the nature of your complaint, stating clearly which post, by which member and on which thread. 3) The complaint will be reviewed and action to be taken will be discussed with both parties. This is the only way that an appeal will be heard.

Banning of members

When and if anyone is banned, then a public notice will be placed on the Forum with the reasons given for the ban.

Termination of membership

Upon termination of your membership (for whatever reason), a request can be made for personal identifiers to be removed from your posts. {For example, the posts will be identified with the originator as guest.} I will not delete your contributions to the discussion. Therefore, please be careful with what you write._________________Corinne Mills

you may wonder why I have changed from the few simple rules to something this formal Ive seen horrendous things happening on another forum I participate in – and have also been made aware that I am legally responsible for the content on here if it is offensive. Thats the reason Ive amended them and I hope you understand._________________Corinne Mills
