I joined Eileen up at a rock’n’roll pub too, not 4 bands like mark&co, but a mix of musicians from 2 or 3 tribute bands who put on jolly show with mostly late 70s stuff in the first set (a few 60s ones sneaked in) then lots of light hearted fun with an excellent attempt at the difficult ‘Wuthering Heights’, Tom Jones complete with hairy chest and knickers flying back and forth, Madonna not without her conical boobs – singing “Like a Gherkin”, David Essex – “Fold me shirts up” and a pretty good Elvis impersonation to finish up with.
I even managed to get there by tube, only one station en route was shut due to the strike; + extra thanks to Mike for driving me home.
