Ah! The poetry thread. I’ve still got the stuff I wrote specially for it.
My all-time favourite though was the Fortune thread. I printed the lot out. 55 pages of mad satire and invention. ![](https://ourpasthistory.com/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif)

To a layman a shark is classed as a fish, just as a butterfly is an insect. All different species can be classified into various categories within their ‘type’. Mammals Reptiles Insects Fish Birds
etc

Correction – Eddie never gave in, just gave up arguing!
Mandy woz rite – Sharks are not fish! If you want an argument and can follow cladistics – argue away! ![](https://ourpasthistory.com/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

Hmmm, cladistics….. Is that the system where you can succesfully argue that a banana is a fish? (See Discworld books for comic asides about this)_________________

That argument between Mandy and Eddie was one of the funniest things I have ever read. Saying that it wasnt an argument, more of a lesson. The stuff about Seahenge was monsterous.
Lesley, does Mandy know of this place? Most of thre urls I posted were removed.

Missed that one, but I do remember Mandy’s tour de force when she had to stand up and defend TT (virtually single-handedly) against the rather aggressive postings of some of the tree-hugging community – when a certain major discovery on the North Norfolk coast was featured in a TT Special. It actually became unlucky to mention it by name ever after! (a bit like ‘The Scottish Play’). And whatever happened to Mangelworzel Moonbeam?_________________
