I got home eventually last night despite the best efforts of GNER (will soon be sending them the bill for my taxi from Bristol to home and train ticket from Weston to Taunton). I missed the 15:15 due to traffic congestion in Leeds, asked what trains I should get. “17:09, change at Birmingham” was the reply. No problems there – the 17:09 (although standing room only the entire journey) arrived on time in Brum. Six minute connection at New Street, but train only going to Bristol. Conductor said there should be a connection at Bristol – but it turns out this “connection” was with a coach departing over two hours later at 00:37!_________________Wanted: 1 signature.
