17th C. button (15.5 mm), which appears in Brian Read's Metal Buttons. C. 900 BC - AD 1700, described as "Discodal, flat & engraved with 6 petalled flower, with pointed stamens, within a curvilinear border, with a rectangular shank - post medieval into 1700's AD

Description: (from PAS)This copper alloy object of post-medieval date is probably a button.There are 2 intersecting raised ridges on the upper surface forming an ‘X’ shape. The reverse has an irregular projection which may have formed the attachment mechanism.
