29th Worcestershire Regiment of Foot button

Another button had the number ‘29’ in a circle surrounded by a ‘star burst’. With research I found that this button was worn by members of the militia of the 29th Worcestershire Regiment of foot. This button dates to around 1790. Again I wondered if an ex-member of the regiment worked on the farm at some point or a farm worker had an ‘army surplice’ coat to work in

General Service uniform button

Queen Victoria crown version 1881-1901. The button appears to be the Queen Victoria crown version of the British army General Service button worn by most infantry, which dates it to 1881-c.1901. (Very common, as Jenny wrote.) Edward Stillwell started business about 1825, and became Stillwell & Son in about 1852. They ceased trading about 1957.
